The custom rubber stamps are gaining popularity and are being used by professionals and non-professionals alike.  These stamps have become popular not only in Europe but also in various parts of the world today such that school kids now even make use of these stamps as part of their arts tools.  In fact, you can use this in a number of ways such as with the use of different pigments and paints.  They can be stamped not only on papers but also on metal, fabric, wood and glass. In fact, there are inks now that enables you to stamp this and have an embossed effect or shaded effect once stamped.

There are actually three basic kinds of rubber stamps such as the vulcanized, the laser engraved, and the liquid polymer rubber stamps.

The vulcanized custom rubber stamps are those traditional stamps that are manufactured through the vulcanization process that up to present is still one of the most effective means of producing stamps.  This involves making of the mould design before casting the rubber into these moulds with the use of a master plate that would cause the impression on the mould. The rubber is just placed on the mould and then the mould is placed in the stamp press. Then a hydraulic pressure is placed that causes the rubber to melt and when melted and afterwards hardened and then it is pulled out.  Another kind is the laser engraved custom rubber stamps which requires a specific curing of the rubber first to give it an even thickness and smooth surface appropriate for making the impression.  The engraving depth would have to depend on the speed of the laser and the density of the rubber.  The computer system controls the laser and with the use of software such as CorelDraw, the laser starts to make the images.

Finally, there are also the liquid polymer custom rubber stamps that make use of a process of converting the liquid polymer into a solid form with the use of UV lights. Here you simply print your chosen image into a paper film called Vellum. With the use of polymer, the hard process of using a foam tape and the difficulty of removing air bubbles once the polymer is poured and best for scrapbooks and cards. These three kinds of custom rubber stamps are available for different usage to suit your varying needs and preferences.
